Photoshop across both platforms, but for very minor edits in Windows, http://www.getPaint.NET is absolutely amazing.

Photoshop is the one and only, in my opinion. There are some free software like GIMP & Paint.NET, but I would choose photoshop over them all of the time.

I use Illustrator and Photoshop CS4. Both are great but i recommend
Photoshop !

Picnik,Adobe Photoshop,pixlr,gimp,ms paint ya I use alot I edit pictures alot

Wow, I just discovered Google SketchUp. Very nice application for design in 3D.
It's free, so don't expect it to be excellent, but still very nice. ;)

You can do photorealistic renderings straight from SketchUp. http://sketchup.google.com/download/plugins.html

I'm also a fanatic about SketchUp! :D
